Roto Studio was commissioned for design-build in four main areas at Avampato Discovery Museum.  Earth City, powerful earth science content with oversized, colorful and humorous hand-painted graphics carrying key learning messages while ramshackle structures and various “found objects” formed the funky framework for phenomenon-based interactives.  Gizmo Factory, the best “classic” physical science interactives in the science-technology center field, adding a number of original phenomenon-based exhibits to match, and wrapping them all in a high-design package inspired by the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright.  Health Royale, part game show, part interactive exhibit. The centerpiece of the project features 9 custom animated figures engaged in a humor-filled and content-rich tic-tac-toe game with visitors playing the role of contestants.  Kidspace, a protected area for very young children, to create a unique collection of physical and cognitive challenges for kids ages 2-5. Kidspace features storybook-inspired art direction on most exhibit and interior surfaces, wrapped around a nature theme.
